Benefits of outside play
☀️ Sunshine – We all need exposure to the sun to make vitamin D, which plays a crucial role in our body, from bone development to our immune system, we need sun.
🚴 Exercise – Children should exercise for at least 1 hour a day and being outdoors with a ball or bike is a great way to ensure they have an active lifestyle.
🧒🏽 Executive function – The skills that help us plan, troubleshoot, negotiate, multitask and creativity. These skills must be learned and practised and a great way to do this is by giving your child unstructured time; time alone, time with other children and time to be allowed to make up their own games and amuse themselves.
🤾🤸 Socialisation – learning how to make friends, cooperate with other and how to treat people in an unstructured way is important. A great way to achieve this by letting your child play in a playground and mix with other children.
